CONDITIONS TREATED AT FARRELL PHYSICAL THERAPY INCLUDE:Manual Therapy is an integral part of our physical therapy practice. It includes both joint mobilization and soft tissue manipulation, which is used to enhance the effects of mobilization. It may include myofascial release, lymph drainage, strain/counterstrain, trigger point massage and/or other massage techniques.
Postural Restoration is an innovative concept of treating biomechanical imbalances by achieving and maintaining symmetry of muscle tone, joint position, breathing patterns, and neural input in both static and dynamic activities. This unique treatment method has been successfully applied to patients suffering from chronic muscle and/or joint pain, Scoliosis, breathing and vestibular irregularities, patella-femoral syndrome, SI Dysfunction, Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, Spinal Radiculopathy, TMJ, shoulder impingement, and headaches, many of whom found minimal relief with traditional methods.
Kineseotaping is a technique based on the body’s own natural healing process, utilizing the theories of the science of Kinesiology, whereby muscles are not only responsible for the movement of body segments but also take part in controlling the venous and lymphatic flow, heat production, etc. Through the use of a special hypoallergenic elastic tape, muscles and other tissues are helped to ‘re-educate’ the neuromuscular system, promote lymphatic flow, reduce pain, enhance performance, prevent injury and promote injury resolution.
Lymphedema Management. We offer the services of skilled, certified lymphedema therapists to develop individualized treatment plans to restore our patients to the highest level of function possible. A major focus of our program is to teach our patients self-help techniques to begin to manage primary or secondary lymphedema independently. Treatment options may include: wound care, manual lymphatic drainage, gradient compression bandaging of the limb(s), ionic detoxification foot bath, a comprehensive exercise prescription for flexibility, strength and edema management, posture and breathing exercises, aerobic and conditioning exercises and wound care.
Terraquant Laser Treatment combines pulsed laser and infrared light to provide pain relief, improving circulation, reduce swelling and stimulate cell growth and tissue regeneration.
Ultrasound uses high energy sound waves (those above the range we hear) to help ease painful joints and muscles. These waves penetrate muscles to cause deep tissue warming which relaxes the muscle, causes vasodilatation, and increases circulation to assist in healing. It will also decrease inflammation.
Electrical Stimulation (also known as E Stim) uses electrical current to control muscles for strengthening. It also promotes increased blood supply to an area.
Total Motion Release is a cutting edge treatment for alleviating pain, increasing range of motion and strengthening. It involves gentle stretching and isometrics to achieve unprecedented progress with minimal treatments.
IonCleanse is a detoxifying foot bath which purifies the body more effectively and faster than any herbal or fasting protocols, with little or no stress to the patient.
