Farrell & Associates Physical Therapy
Farrell and Associates Physical Therapy Director, Sheila Farrell is a native Washingtonian with a 12 year track record of outstanding patient results in hospitals, rehabilitation facilities and outpatient clinics. She has degrees form University of North Carolina and Howard University.
To effectively address individual needs, Ms. Farrell requires an ongoing commitment to professional advancement for herself and her staff. In addition to teaching, she researches the newest available therapeutic methods and keeps current by attending classes offered by the best professionals in physical therapy. Continuing education includes all of the Maitland orthopedic techniques, Strain-Counterstrain, Craniosacral Therapy, Visceral Manipulation, Total Motion Release, and maintaining certifications in lymphedema management and Kineseotaping.
We are providers with Blue Cross (HMO & PPO), Medicare, Aetna, United Health Care, Mamsi, NCPPO, and others. We will bill your insurance. You pay only the co-pay, if there is one.
Kristen Spencer, MPT
Kristen has been practicing physical therapy for 7 years, with experience in both military and civilian outpatient settings. She has a passion for sports and biomechanics and has dedicated herself to finding the root cause of pain and injury. She is experienced in Postural Restoration, an innovative concept of treating biomechanical imbalances by achieving and maintaining symmetry of muscle tone, joint position,breathing patterns, and neural input in both static and dynamic activities. This unique treatment method has been successfully applied to patients suffering from chronic muscle and/or joint pain, Scoliosis, breathing and vestibular irregularities, patella-femoral syndrome, SI Dysfunction, Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, Spinal Radiculopathy, TMJ, shoulder impingement, and headaches, many of whom found minimal relief with traditional methods.
Continuing education includes: Myofascial Release, Muscle Energy, Maitland joint mobilization of spine and extremities, Running Medicine, and Postural Restoration. She has recently moved to the Bethesda area from Warner Robins, GA with her husband, Evan, and 3-yr-old son, Brayden. She attended Samford University and the University of Florida.
